Actually a tool for literature management, zotero is also a very suitable tool for PKM. Integration of documents is very easy. Only downside: no integration of mails.

logseq was built with zotero integration in mind.
despite not being able to work on a single database it is quite useful because with logseq you have bidirectional linking available between notes.

Thanks for the hint! Backlinks are a not so seldom feature, but zotero integration would be very nice.
