Wait until you try to do it using an FPGA
Or even better just using a bunch of gates and hard wiring it in.
Learning how to do it from scratch makes me more amazed we got to the point we have with computing hardware

You reminded me of this guy explaining how to build an 8bit computer from scratch on breadboards.
I highly recommend. He's one hell of a teacher. No bullshit, he took his time and dedicated months into documenting it in video form.

Brought back PTSD from when I took a mainframe assembler course a few semesters ago, I still get anxiety if I see that professors name in my student email inbox.
