I've been stuck on this week's special for ages, don't know how to proceed without seemingly guessing. Even if there is the odd square I've overlooked, I can't imagine it'd set off a full on chain reaction.

Assuming that you're correct so far, in your first column, you can deduce that the 9 and the 5 are separated by the bottom-most X you have in place. With the 9(and maybe the 1) somewhere in the middle section and the 5 somewhere in the bottom section

Do you know what's really stupid? I already saw that the 9 had to go there, I just forgot to do the overlap trick (I've only really discovered nonograms this week). Cheers!

I'm trying it out now to match yours, and found a row you missed so far.
The 8,2,8,5 row you can get another 4 confirmed squares (Second 8). Doing that will give you a starting point for the 2,1,10 and 1,9 columns, letting you X out a few squares below.
The 4,3,4,2,2,7 column you can confirm one square on the second 4. That lets you get a few more tiles on the 4,4,4,1,1,1,3 row

Ahhh how did I not see that! Cheers

Hopefully that helps you to continue.
Let me know if you need help or a reference pic. After a lot of work I finally cleared it. Still have no idea what picture it is though.

Well I made an irredeemable mistake and have had to give up. Can I see what it was please?

Here's the final result. No idea what the picture is supposed to be, or maybe my imagination is just bad.

Yeah that's totally not anything, is it? How disappointing. Is there a better site that actually has real pictures?

Nonograms.org seems pretty good, but the puzzles can be quite a lot bigger
