When RIF finally stopped working for me, it was giving error 429, which is Too Many Requests. I expect you're getting lucky with whatever rate limiting scheme was implemented on reddit's server side.
I'm wondering the same thing except I use baconreader. Idk what's going on but I can totally load posts and comments and they're not old data or anything. Anyone else?

No rate limit if you log out.
Been using that to lurk the worldnews mega threads.

I deleted the app, nothing for me there. Not planning to replace it with a lemmy app either, spent too much of the past ten years on reddit.
