melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 2y

Looks like something from a fancy restaurant, you missed your calling

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

yum, that looks incredible

what temp is your oven, it looks very hot

and the base looks delicious an fairly thin. How long does it take to cook?

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 2y

This was @ 250c preheated for 30 mins to get it up there.

Wish I had a proper pizza oven :(

It was in there for about 12mins

Duenan@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Out damn. That looks amazing!

fullkitwanker@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Uber me a couple slices thank you

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Fuck that looks good!

the_procrastinata@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

That looks so delicious!

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 12 pts · 2y (4 replies)

I have the new Ted Cat photos. :) he has a slow eating bowl otherwise he inhales his food ::: spoiler spoiler :::

here he is in his mullet glory , it's just growing back like that, a big dark stripe growing down his back ๐Ÿคญ ::: spoiler spoiler :::

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Now I'm thinking of him and Bill Cat looking like the human Bill and Ted. Bill Cat with long shaggy metalhead hair and Ted Cat with a mullet

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I'm trying to get some pics of Bill and Ted together. They are excellent to each other now. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ˜ธ

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y

So fluffy!!!

the_procrastinata@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 2y (5 replies)

Last night we went to Ravenna Gorge Christmas market, not too far from Freiburg. It. Was. AWESOME. Itโ€™s under a train viaduct thing that gets lit up in various colours. It was so atmospheric and fun, we really enjoyed it. Highly recommend if youโ€™re in Germany at Christmas market time.

Yeah, it makes me sad that Australian decoration is so tacky and overdone.

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Totally. I'd love to see Xmas in Europe next year.

calhoon2005@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 2y

Germany at Christmas is magic. I spent an amazing Christmas in Nuremberg about 20 years ago. Snow, Christmas lights, Tannenbaum's, glรผhwine.... So so nice. Enjoy

useless_modern_god@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

That is fucking gorgeous.

Sitting here contemplating flipping a coin as to whether I'll go for an overnight road trip border adventure but realised I need to get out of this apartment so the answer is already Go.

Duenan@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Do it! Flip the coin and youโ€™ll find out

bull@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

It's a little late for that, I just arrived after my 3.5 hour drive here. Out of curiosity I did flip the coin before I left and it said don't go.

Duenan@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 2y

Ah ok. Well if you flipped the coin and it said donโ€™t go but you go anyway then you already made your join and the coin flip just confirms it.

Outlier1031@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 2y

Carol and the end of the world on netflix is a such a sweet and life-affirming show. Highly recommend!

I'm in trouble for daring to use a laptop on my lap. Don't I know laps are for cats?

Cendana@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 2y

A cat is technically a laptop.

After all they sleep on top of your lap right?

Duenan@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y

Gah! Just found out something I purchased 3 days ago went on sale literally hours after I bought it.

Canโ€™t do much since itโ€™s a digital product but it has left me a bit sour.

On the bright side it was worth it for full price so it takes the edge off at least.

6368_39162@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y (5 replies)

Curiosity Expo! Will I come home with a taxidermied warthog or a steampunk muppet hat?

baconmash@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Yes

useless_modern_god@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y (3 replies)

I had never heard of this one. Seems like a good way to spend an afternoon. I wonโ€™t be able to attend unfortunately which is a shame, Iโ€™m looking for a smallish antler rack.

6368_39162@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y (2 replies)

No actual antlers to be had. Plenty bad art with themโ€ฆ

useless_modern_god@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Let us know what your favourite curiosities are there if possible. Maybe a photo or two to share with the class?

6368_39162@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y

Didnโ€™t take any pics. One place had a flying lizard specimen which was tempting. The oddest was probably the teapots with bits of ex-fox for handles and spouts. Interesting, but no thank you.

Duenan@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Spent the day in the sun, and despite taking precautions I've made myself sun sick... Smothering myself in aloe and climbing into bed with an ungodly amount of water.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Ted Cat has good days and bad days. He still bites sometimes. ( and not nips either ๐Ÿ˜ฌ) but generally he's a lot calmer and I think a bit happy His fur is growing back nicely, into a cat mullet . I'll try to get some pics :)

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

I need twenty pics ASAP. The presidents life depends on it

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Yeah, after repeated soaking and washing these blankets still smell. They really let that shit get baked in there. I may also be looking at a new pet pram.

Feeling understimulated but lazy and my hand hurts from scrolling. I don't want to practice real art stuff. I just want to shitpost and trace memes. Bored.

What are these Hot Take days?

Taleya@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y

Hot take Thursdays (i think?) are basically just rant time

I'm making mini cheesecakes because why not?

useless_modern_god@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 2y (3 replies)

I bought a really nice mud cake to bring along to the neighborhood Christmas party tonight. I just stare at it occasionally and think about keeping it all to myself now.๐Ÿ˜ญ

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y (2 replies)

It'll go lovely with a bit of cream wouldn't it?

useless_modern_god@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Combine the cheesecake and mud cake for the ultimate taste sensation.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 2y

Ooooo. Mud cake, cheesecake, mud cake. Like a sandwich. Shut up.

Duenan@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y (3 replies)

Hope you enjoy!

Need some help deciding if I should eat noodles with gyoza or make a giant pot of beef bolognaise for pasta for the next good few days.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (2 replies)

I'd say the bolognese because it's perfect weather for it. Noodles and gyozas are for times when you can't be stuffed.

Duenan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Pasta it is then!

I splurged on Valhalla Old English Toffee ice cream from Leo's. Truly excellent decision, spectacular ice cream.

tone_212@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I think I made a mistake with my pie. I had a tart dish where you can remove the bottom, but I thought it was too small so I went and bought a glass pie dish. I put the biscuit base direct on the glass and now Iโ€™m worried itโ€™s going to be stuck. I should have put down baking paper first. Worst comes to worst, dessert will be a deconstructed pie.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

it should be ok. Just be sure to use a very sharp knife when you cut it and use a spatula to get the bits out

Oh hey bot good to see. I have a little hack for you. Next time you're at a Christmas party and everyone is enjoying karaoke using Spotify through the the telly (I don't know how it happens. I go out for a smoke and magic happens) and the lyrics aren't synced, open it on your phone and tap on the lyrics a couple of times and the music then syncs to the lyrics and you'll be an accidental hero like Steven Bradbury. You are welcome.

Quick question for the over 30's crowd:

How many times a month would you go for a big night out, and roughly how much do you spend?

Trying to sort my budget out. Fun Saturday night activity lol

I just realised I'm spending a shitload (upto 5x) the norm on nights out. Time to tighten the belt a bit.

bull@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 2y (3 replies)

I'm 40 and I'd have to try to remember which year was the last time I went for a big night out

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y (2 replies)

I'm a year older and I'm going out every weekend trying to live out my wasted youth lol

0-1.... As little as possible. Shit's expensive these days hey

Duenan@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 2y

Sadly these days not very often if at all but if I did when I used to go out to the comedy festival Iโ€™d budget for dinner, transport and a drink or two.

dumblederp@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y (2 replies)

Over 40: Meal transport and a few beers $80-$100. Heavy drinking or drugs will easily add hundreds. I can't remember the last time I went out or bought drugs. I think I bought some ket about four years ago. I don't know where to buy drugs from anymore.

Gibsonisafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I only drink, but it adds up fast with transport included. Last time I spent about 350 and it was eye opening the next day lpl

dumblederp@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 2y

I've worked in bars and pubs, drinking in them really doesn't appeal to me.

the_procrastinata@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y

If weโ€™re doing a big dinner out, maybe once every 4-5 weeks on average, and probably around $30-50 each. If we go out for a casual dinner, itโ€™s closer to $30-40 pp.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y

Once per month. Maybe About $80

Cendana@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 2y (4 replies)

Just got asked by a random woman to help pay $25 at a nearby glasses store... she claims to have no cash, no card, and... no phone? Also asked for my phone number so she can pay me back $30. Also she talked slow.

Carried a handbag and a shopping bag containing a small amount of clothing.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 2y (3 replies)

yeah, not that smart but smart enough to learn some simple scams

Cendana@lemm.ee · 1 pts · 2y (2 replies)

What do you mean by that ๐Ÿ˜…

fullkitwanker@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I think they meant that they're not that smart but smart enough to know that that's a simple scam?

Cendana@lemm.ee · 2 pts · 2y

Oh I see, I couldn't tell whether it's me or the girl not knowing the simple scam part lol.

She was probably by drugs though. My wife ended up buying for her a meal instead and declining the repayment.
