Why is it when you know someone solely by the sound of their voice, they almost never look the way you imagined them to look when you finally see them in the flesh?

I've had similar shocks like that, Mental Outlaw, Lazy Masquerade..

Most recently for me it was the hosts of the podcast Endless Thread.

I had that big time with the Radiolab hosts when I saw them live several years ago.
