Average usage is much lower, never actually ran DPI but I’d like to tinker with it. But i also torrent, and host a few services on a home server that I’d like to perform as well as my internet will allow.
Also i tried traffick shaping in the past, but on my EdgeRouter X, it severely limited my speeds.

You seem to be heading into appliance territory here.
Do you actually need to inspect 1Gb worth of traffic or is 1Gb your connection and your average usage is much lower?
