Played some GBA games on it with touch screen controls but really want to use a controller to play PS1 and PSP games.

Does that phone have usb-c? If so, I'm a big fan of the Gamesir X2, I've got the 2021 edition and it's very comfortable and easy to use.
I have also used a Ps4 controller with a clip and is good for short sessions. You'll feel the weight after a while, it's not as balanced as a telescoping one like the Gamesir. Great budget option if you already have a Ps4 controller. Check https://a.co/d/cEANPFm

The ps4 controller can connect via Bluetooth.

I used to use an XBOX One controller with a clip. While it was working flawlessly, ergonomics were a total nightmare because of the way you need to bend your wrists. I got a telescope controller recently and that's what I would ABSOLUTELY recommend to you, too. I'm using it way more than I used the old constellation.

I hear there’s a Logitech one that’s really good for submarine simulator games.
