Every once in a while 4chan can be wholesome. Shame this wasn't irl, but at least it might have put a smile on OP's face.

It's better than wholesome, it's helpful. It subverts the claws of the pity party to the point of absurdity, leaving the writer with only two options:

  1. Shut up and get head scratches
  2. Realize they didn't want head scratches and they just wanted to wallow externally in their own fetishized misery
