You don't NEED a weekend. The concept is barely 100 years old.

i mean there are very few things you need.

here are some things you don't need:

  • friends and family
  • fresh air
  • bathing
  • happiness
  • a healthy diet
  • government
  • an economic system
  • a partner
  • a house
  • a bed
  • grocery stores

so many things didn't exist 100 years ago, too:

  • the abolition of child labor
  • the widespread adoption of the 3-meal-day
  • women's right to vote in the US
  • the great depression

it's a stupid fuckin post

The only reason the concept of a weekend was implemented was because that was the same time the 40-hour work week was implemented.

before the 40-hour work week existed, people could work and rest whenever they needed to.

But now yes, we do indeed need weekends.

You are right. Because if I quit working the weekdays then they become the weekend.
