I’d love to have someone that wants to play. Getting older sucks.

Same, and even if you find someone willing to chat it's so hard to find someone you click with. Or they on other side of the world.

I have a random Rocket League friend like that that added me randomly. He's a nice guy, but I can't login to just chill without feeling like a jerk.

I have steam always show me as offline when i start it. I just want to relax without that jerk feeling.

That's literally why "appear offline" mode exists. You avoid potentially hurting someone's feelings, while maintaining plausible deniability!
