Yes exactly! You can quickly tell it was just "the games that cost the most to make/hype/etc."

Two of my best friends played it a bit and said it was "good." They didn't provide details but said it was better than 3 (I f'ing hated that game, so generic and no strategy required).

lol what? It doesn't hold a candle mechanically to dark souls. It's way less consistent and way less polished.
