I’ve seen other people mention it, and it makes sense it’d look like something missing considering all the recent large MacBooks have had their speaker grills there. But it doesn’t bother me personally.

if it can't be added because it's too thin then it's fine, it's worth it for the bigger screen

I've not seen it in person yet, but from pics I kinda like it, looks clean. I work in IT and support Macs in our environment. I've not seen this on Macs I use/own, but many times I will see users' speaker grills gummed up with dust, other yuckies. So at least in that regard I like this change.
