@Rhaedas@The_Picard_Maneuver@EggInDisguise I was more referring to the fact that the visible universe is only a fraction of the actual universe. There is no way for us to properly estimate the actual number.
@andrew ugh. I hate capitalism.
We gotta have artificial scarcity, so let's print a ton, then tell people they only have a short time to order, then burn everything that wasn't sold in a week.
“Then Aragorn laid his hand on Merry’s head, and passing his hand gently through the brown curls, he touched the eyelids, and called him by name. And when the fragrance of athelas stole through the room, like the scent of orchards, and of heather in the sunshine full of bees, suddenly Merry awoke, and he said:
‘I am hungry. What is the time?”

It recently came out that Dan Frasier's art in The One Ring box toppers poorly copied a previous One Ring artist.
You can see in the left that the ring is blobby and the script hasn't entirely been blurred out
Frasier admitted to copying it in as reference art and then not properly painting over it, and apologized to everyone including the original artist.
WOTC apologized for not catching it, and is now paying the other artist and crediting her work in the digital version
@mike perhaps WOTC is overworked and understaffed because they're going through layoffs while also having to push out 7 sets a year.
Maybe they barely even glanced at the final result because it's Dan Frasier and they know he does good work. Or maybe it got lost in the shuffle.
@MysticKetchup ah yes. Trot out the tired "we believe a direct relationship is best" line to say "no we don't want to listen to the person you choose to speak for you"
@UnPassive well, yeah. I'm not particularly surprised that WOTC is marking stuff up to stupid levels on their own store. But I also don't particularly care because it's cosmetic items.
And it'll only get more drastic as the paper lands become more available and thus cheaper.
*Shrugs*
@Postmortal_Pop@MysticKetchup same. I'm usually pretty happy with what they've got but when they asked "what's the best thing about the set?" I answered "the best thing is that the cards are absolute crap so they won't be showing up in standard"
That and the question about "did influencers make you like/dislike the set and who has been talking about it?"
I ain't no snitch.
@nocturne I liked the Strixhaven decks, but I felt they were all pretty slow to get going, though lots of fun once they built up steam. I think they're at their best when played against each other
@nocturne yeah we own most of the precons as well.
We liked the Dungeons, Party, Prosper, and dinosaurs decks so much we rebuilt them into personal decks.
The new Khans Temur is surprisingly good. Never seen a dragons deck work well out of the box like that. I also really liked that Mardu deck.
Other standouts have been the EoE zombies deck, the Wilhelt deck, the Sauron deck, the NEO modify deck, the Merry/Pippen deck, and the OTJ crime deck off the top of my head.
@The_Picard_Maneuver in my household
#mtg #magicthegathering
@ptc075 @MECHASQrL hell yeah, always me a solid red deck. Keeps all the other decks honest
@MysticKetchup @Edges I agree on the cool details for that art. Though the recent phyrexians certainly had their own unique take on horrifying
@The_Picard_Maneuver in the same way the the Princess Bride is a perfect movie and should never get a remake. Unless it's Muppets.
@The_Picard_Maneuver pretty sure Tom Paris is straight up stealing that printer
@Rhaedas @The_Picard_Maneuver @EggInDisguise I was more referring to the fact that the visible universe is only a fraction of the actual universe. There is no way for us to properly estimate the actual number.
@The_Picard_Maneuver in the galaxy? Perhaps. In the universe? Certainly not

@The_Picard_Maneuver except they literally mention bees.

@Kowowow @MysticKetchup TEETH! TEETH! TEETH! TEETH! TEETH! TEETH!

@nocturne @mike I wonder, was this poll really posted by Wizards? I didn't see a link to the original.
The answer options could be an effort to dulute the "no" percentages so that the "yes" looks bigger in comparison.

Wow. In Q2 "WOTC and Digital Gaming" was $242 M of $247 M total profits.
And that's before FF?
