This is what you need to keep foremost in your mind. There is no conceivable reality in which the US conquers (yes conquers, they can call it annexation all they want but at the end of the day Trump wants a conquest to his name) Canada and gives any semblance of voting or personal rights to Canadians. Hell, even if Canada was somehow persuaded into voluntarily joining the US, this regime would never, ever honour any kind of arrangement that gave Canadians a fair deal. They are fascist bullies, as close to actual evil as we've seen in North America in a very long time, and they have no interest in any sort of fair bargain.
Well Poilievre, who's party lost tonight, has been extremely limp-wristed in his opposition to Trump's threats, but he hasn't outright said he'd surrender, just implied it with his weak rhetoric. More likely to me is that Trump in his dementia ridden mind was literally calling for people to vote for him. Like somehow enough Canadians would write Trump on their ballots that it would "win" the election for him, which demonstrates such a fundamental lack of understanding about our electoral system that I don't even know where to begin.

I've always spoken my mind, and let fascists and conservatives know exactly how low I think of them, and until about a month ago none of it had copped me even a temporary ban.
Yep, 11+ year Reddit user and I had never received a single ban save a few of those pre-emptive ones from overly zealous subreddits I'd never even interacted with. Then in the last 6 weeks I received escalating bans of 3 days, then 7, and just yesterday finally a permaban, without much change in my rhetoric. I've always been very hostile to fascists and conservatives on my account, and for 99% of my Reddit history that never got flagged at all. So fuck em, I'm not going to try and get back on, the Reddit of today is not the one I enjoyed using back in the 2010s.
Even that is getting culled. Reddit recently nuked r/nsfw which is like the OG porn subreddit. Apparently the Reddit execs learned nothing from the demise of Tumblr.

So fuck em, I'm not going to bend over backwards trying to make an alt account they won't flag, I'll be sad for the Reddit of bygone days but it's gone now, the new one is rotten to the core.
