I wasnt doing much there anyway other than my local subs which i browse for 5 to 10 minutes a day on the pc.
i open a few subs every so often to find more netflix shows to watch or see if my games have been updated with new drama & then i leave.
Will you jump between apps a lot? I don't think it defeats it. There is no one purpose. I like multiple POVs. Even if it's the "same" content in theory. It's not really, in practice. Especially in heavily defederated instances, or buggy federation like kbin, or different federation like microblogging vs link aggregation, or browsing the Local tab, or having different subscriptions on different accounts, or the speed and quality of interacting which impacts your perspective of the same content.
I know :) I'm partially kidding. I tried kbin. The UI was too weird for me. That's actually the main reason I didn't use it. It felt less customizable. I had a hard time not seeing just the defaults. In fact I'm not sure in all this time I've subbed to anything from my kbin acc.

Lemmy had much fewer moderation tools. It's not the lack of mod tools. In fact, mod tools are still alive because reddit delayed their death for a week or so. The problem, more than mod tools, is behavior and demographic changes.
I procrastinated work for 2 straight weeks when lemmy came out. Deadline is now past and I'm still deep into the task and being threatened with retaliation for not finishing on time. π€ That had never happened to me with reddit at all, not even close.
Lemmy had 1-2k people. Now it has 240k monthly active users. In a sense, you are exactly that. Most lemmy instances were created in the last few weeks.
Well, deluded genocide-promoting nazis are still human and have a variety of interests ππ including in this case social media and free speech (for him and his people).
He a genius tbh. Like anyone can do this if they had the right genes and an iq of like 190. Pure luck.
