CVE-2025-32463 (CVSS score: 9.3) - Sudo before 1.9.17p1 allows local users to obtain root access because "/etc/nsswitch.conf" from a user-controlled directory is used with the --chroot option
@mattblaze@federate.social One can only learn from history if you remember it right? Too many people today don't really understand the destruction that a single nuclear weapon can wreak. That the bombs dropped in Japan would be considered "tactical" today. These edifices serve to remind us a bit of that threat.

I've got a Canon 5D which I'd love to explore doing T/S photography with, however the only two Canon lenses are a 17mm one and 24mm one at $2150 and $1900 respectively. Ouch. Was hoping there was a T/S lens mount that would convert my existing lenses.
@mattblaze@federate.social Perhaps a random question, do you have a tilt/shift adapter that you put between the lens and the camera body or does the lens itself have that ability?

At USC there used to be a design contest at the Architecture school for putting the maximum number of living spaces into the smallest number of square feet. Each 'unit' had to support two adults, cooking, bathing, a bathroom, and a place to sleep.
One of the students called it 'smooshed camping' which sort of stuck with me.

There was one being dismantled (apparently, couldn't get a good look at it) at the Mare Island shipyard area. I wonder if they were just recovering the rails. I saw it when I went over to the Maker Faire hosted there last year.

@mattblaze@federate.social "rail float" being the same as "rail ferries" ? Before the chunnel there were rail ferries between France and England.
