If I need something specific I usually jump in and scour that area for the resource I need :)
But the majority of my resources have come from casually shooting bushes during Pathos Clamp runs or during the multi-hour sessions in "Divuri Experience" running Enigma puzzles. The 5th tier Riding Intrinsic is pretty useful for finding resources in areas as well :)
