I've put in about 40 hours since launch, loot a bunch of stuff, only had one negative experience and me leaving immediately made his experience worse as he was left in a situation where no one would revive him. I lost a free kit.
So far 99 percent of my interactions have been normal trash talk amongst enemies to positive interactions between friends and "alleged" enemies. Community seems pretty chill, if nothing else anyone can die in an instant so no use getting mad when another chance at more loot is legit 30-60 seconds away
Never say never, but if they didn't turn it on for Destiny 2 at this point, I wouldn't be sure for Marathon, at least any time in the launch window/year.
