I get that finances aren't the best for many people, but it always makes me very sad to see that music has been undervalued to a degree where it's not in anyway unusual to expect to get access to all music ever created for 10 dollars a month. Obviously, that means that the vast majority of artists get very little money. This has lead to a large share of the music available to stream being AI generated garbage. Because it doesn't make sense to put in the time to create a work of art when people are just not prepared to compensate you properly.
I pirate music to see if I like it, and buy what I like, mostly on vinyl, often through Bandcamp. Despite the pirating, I pay far more than 120 dollars a year for music. That's the price of like 3-4 albums, and I haven't gone a year buying less than 10 albums. And that's excluding all the gigs that I go to. Music is valuable to me, and I still have the first album I bought in 1992, and everything thereafter. It's an awesome experience rediscovering stuff I listened to in the nineties, that I had completely forgotten about.
Thank you for the link. And jfc what a nuclear meltdown. He sure sounds much more 'normal' than regular Lemmy users, which according to him nowadays consist of people not allowed anywhere else online. I'm sure he has the right temperament for attracting 'normies' and 'save the fediverse from itself' as he puts it, lol
This was a vote in the General Assembly, where no country has a veto. It's one of the only institutions in the world where one can gauge global sentiments instead of what "the international community" has decided. The veto is in the security council, where the powerful countries that make up "the international community" rule over everyone else.
Which proves that they don't have any guilt over committing holocaust per se, they just regret the one against European Jews because you know, they lost that war, so that genocide became too costly for them. This one just shifts some of that cost to innocent brown people who are presumed to be unlikely to be able to impose any retaliatory cost. So fuck'em, who cares. Just fascists doing fascist stuff.
Article 66.4 of the same disciplinary code: “A sending-off automatically incurs suspension from the subsequent match. The FIFA judicial bodies may impose additional match suspensions and other disciplinary measures.”
They already ratfucked Iran by making them travel 12 hours by bus from Tijuana to Seattle and back on match day, and by cancelling a winning goal for a supposed offside. Dallas police attacked the Egyptian coach in the airport. This tournament has been the nail in the coffin of FIFA. This is just blatant hyper corruption, sort of a US style UFC-isation of football that the rest of the world will have a difficult time to digest.
Are you insane? Iran was just attacked by the US, and the US has a finger in every country in the world. I wonder if that means that it's now legitimate for Iranian military officers to blow up infrastructure in your country connected to Americans, you know, "built by the aggressor" in your words. I somehow doubt you'd have the same cavalier attitude about that. Defending straight up terrorism in third countries now smfh.
Interesting, since the leader of the movement getting bombed made a statement an hour ago mocking those who make the claim you're making. The US can stop this at any moment it wishes, and anyone claiming anything else is either ignorant or malicious.
Turkey has charged fees for passage through the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles for a long time as far as I know. They just raised it by 15% like three days ago.
They've basically lost every single one since WWII, but I don't think it has ever been as apparent and comprehensive as this one. This one was just a very very embarrassing affair for the world's biggest superpower. Spectacularly so I'd say.

If everyone you encounter is an asshole, guess who the real asshole is.

Also weird: knowing what your wife's sister does to her pubes.

It's an exact translation of the Persian. "Ma Trump ra khahim kosht" = "we are going to kill Trump"

Every single UN Member State is subject to the ICJ. The ICC is another story though.
Norway and Sweden having the two highest shares of unfavorable views warmed my heart.

Calling the GCC the Gulf Coast Coalition is just chef's kiss. JD is not a bright human being.
I hope this war mongering ghoul takes his 'secret' with him to hell, preferably soon. I wish nothing good for him, ever.
