Ironically it is basically a perquisite to be happy on your own before you can find a good relationship. I have known a lot of couples and only a few of them seemed happier together than I am single. If you are miserable then getting involved with someone will just spread your misery, not reduce it.
Modern marriage isn't much more than a financial arrangement. Not tryna say people don’t get married for love, but the fact remains that as an institution, marriage isn’t about love and never has been.
I'm more than comfortable with having the breaks be a bit away, which is probably why I counted a few more. I can think of two positions in the drop and two up on the hood, but one of each has no way to reach the breaks without moving your hands.
Forgot that I wrote a poem vaguely about this kind of person:
It threatens to loosen
All of your gargoyle dreams
So do as we say
And kick and cry and scream
Nothing ventured, nothing lost
The only shame is in the biggest loss
So if in dreams you turn and toss
Sit and wallow at your costs
Dont ask neighbors what they need
Whisper to them our self same theme
And kick and cry and scream
Sit in sorrow at our cross
If we all pretend it could just be
That all blows over, washes to the sea
So be how the tortoise be
Slow and small and insular
And wait till all time grows older
Come and join our mission
Treat all strangers with suspicion
Nothing ventured, nothing seen
Hold on tight to your gargoyle dreams
I have an old road bike with drop bars. Still feels more natural to have the flat bars, but I do really like being able to switch my grip around so my wrists don't become fatigued. You can hold drop bars in one of 4 or 5 ways.
