Be glad you don't live in the UK then. You have to be able to prove that you're over 16, or 18 - I forget which. Luckily I don't have to worry about that being 27, but it does get annoying when I forget about it and take a monster through the self checkouts. Normally I have to wait maybe 5 minutes for the overworked employee to notice me and authorize the purchase.

Ah ok, I can imagine that would be troublesome if you read a character as daring when someone tries portraying it as foolhardy. How about choose your own adventure or fighting fantasy style books? They're more written with you, the reader, being the protagonist and your decisions dictate how the story unfolds. They tend to be a lot more involved as it depends upon you choosing which page to flip to to decide which action you wish to take.

If books aren't really your thing though what do you do instead to kill time?

Have you tried audio books? I've found sometimes it helps me pay attention when someone's reading the book, and I can then be doing something else while listening to the book opens up a bit more time for other things that need to be done.

That's fair, just need a moment to unwind, to relax. What do you do for that, I like listening to music, reading a book, but then I get carried away and find half the day's gone without my realising.

Brit here, but we put any style of onion on and in anything, raw onion, fried onion, pickled onion, caramelized onion or onion chutney, take your pick.

Ah, I'm a Brit, I've been going through this with the NHS and while the eye clinic did mention the cross linking and possible transplant. They were very much of the opinion that it was a measure of last resort and would only consider it if my eyes got drastically worse.

No worries, just thought I'd provide a viewpoint as someone who has no other option than contact lenses.

Trust me, if I could I would much rather wear glasses, be far more comfortable than using the small plunger I need to use to get my lenses out.

I have keratoconus, so unfortunately glasses aren't an option for me. I have to wear these rigid plastic contact lenses to correct for my corneas which bulge outwards kinda like little cones.

All I can think of is Lisbeth slander from the millennium series. That's pretty kickass.
