The first version of this joke I remember learning of came from Scottish comedian Jerry Sadowitz:
"In 1991, Sadowitz was knocked unconscious by an audience member during a performance at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, where he mocked French Canadians, starting with the greeting "Hello moosefuckers! I tell you why I hate Canada, half of you speak French, and the other half let them."[27] The rarely quoted follow-up line, which Sadowitz claims is what actually led to him being attacked, was "Why don't you speak Indian? You might as well speak the language of the people you stole the country off of in the first place."[28]"
Ronnie was sent to a "school for subnormal boys" in the fifties/sixties, it's as likely his low reading and writing levels came from a shockingly poor education as any additional intellectual disability. The state of the art in British psychiatry when Ronnie was a child still considered autism a symptom of schizophrenia.
The Five Eyes surveillance sharing system makes it unlikely that the UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand will have the same national security drive to opt out. They can just ask the US to share info on their own citizens in a way that isn't open to mainland Europe.
Couple of British examples of what should be the standard for modern business:
Julian Richer, founder of Richer Sounds (hifi store in the UK), seems like one of the better capitalists around. He signed over majority control of the company to an employee trust when he turned 60, donates 15% of their profit to charity, runs a nonprofit dedicated to exposing corporate tax avoidance, campaigns against zero hours contracts, and devotes company resources to promoting unsigned bands: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Richer
James Timpson recently stepped down as CEO of Timpson, another UK retailer that specialises in things like key cutting, shoe repairs, passport photos etc. He made it company policy to hire people who had been to prison and help them get back on their feet, and his campaign for prison reform saw him step down from the company to become Minister for Prisons in the current government. The company has a "Director of Happiness" who is paid to keep the front line staff happy, resulting in policies like getting the day off work on your kid's first day of school, compassionate leave for the death of a pet, etc. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timpson_(retailer)
