The amount of actual software improvements made to my Tesla since he started focusing on X has been record high (something as simple as getting automatic highlights and wipers finally working for example).

Please keep the madman occupied with his social media failure and away from everything that actually matters!

The windows 11 settings menus are complete abominations, and the search function is about as much help as just screaming what you're looking for at the screen.

I guess it might be because those of us who actually do support the blackout tries to keep staying away until things changes, while a lot of the people on Reddit right now have been content starved for a few days and just waited for the subs to open again (and thus does not want to see them shut down again).

Personally I quite like it here on the fediverse and am not in any way in a hurry to go back to Reddit any time soon.

As a Tesla owner (who don't like tesla, don't like musk, and would sell my car the second I would change occupation and not have to work at industries located in no-man's land), the fact they can advertise their piece of shit system as self driving autopilot is insane to me. What's even worse is it relies on cameras that constantly get blinded by direct sunlight and covered in dust/snow/mud/whatever.

I feel embarrassed by driving one, but here in Sweden I couldn't afford any other electrical vehicle that could go as far as I needed to, so I had to choose the lesser of two evils. Too bad so many people gobble up what musk says and acts like the cars are actually self driving, and have to show off the acceleration at every stop light endangering themselves and others around them.

If it's just collecting dust anyways, just give it a go! And don't stress about getting it set up fast or perfect on your first try, see it as a fun and interesting project and familiarise yourself with the OS. Maybe check out a few different distros and DE's before you decide on what to settle with.

Deathspank, haha! Currently playing through steamworld quest, more or less just picking interesting games from my 1500 games big backlog on steam to play on my steamdeck lol

I would recommend getting one of XYZs 10digit domains for $1/year, and use a cheap old pc or such as hosting that's completely separated from the rest of your network (by firewalls is enough, you wanna go even more hardcore you could get a 4g modem to run a completely separate network, but that would be a lot more work and pricier for a fraction of what's gained).

This way your personal domain stays hidden, and any outside threat only gains access to your Lemmy host.

It can actually be marginally beneficial for the device to be charged with lower speeds than it has the support for. It's kind of like with a car, even though it can run at 120km/h without issues, driving it at 60km/h leads to less wear and tear.

Lower charging power leads to less heat generation as well. So if you charge your phone every night, I'd choose a 10W/22W charger for that purpose, while if you need to charge quickly while at work or say on a train/airplane or whatever, the 65W can be more suitable.

I hate the "always online, always changing, sudo-mmo"- genre that's becoming the norm with certain publishers. Avoid anything GaaS-like unless it's something I feel the need to experience. In this case I just play Grim Dawn or some other great arpg whenever I get the itch for the genre! Lets me play multiplayer when I want to, and just play real singleplayer whenever I want to.
