PiHole can be configured to use DoH, as can OpnSense and presumably other local DNS and router servers.

And the biggest disadvantage of IPv6 is that each of your internal devices has its own address and can be directly accessible from outside. So you need to completely rethink how you do security.

There was an update a while back that picked up my Green status on Twitter and applied it to my Mastodon account. My status on Reddit is neutral because I'm mostly posting there about tech stuff.

I use Hyper-V on mine, and mostly run FreeBSD virtual machines + some Linux VMs. The actual Windows VMs I have are DNS controller, Exchange Server, and Remote Desktop. You are not going to be able to do any of those things on 1GB of RAM. My Exchange Server has 16GB RAM, DNS controller has 2GB, Remote Desktop has 32GB (could run on less depends what you want to do on it). There's 256GB of RAM in total on the computer.

My NAS is a FreeBSD virtual machine. The drives are passed through directly to the Virtual Machine, so it is possible to take the drives out, and attach them to another virtual machine or bare metal computer running FreeBSD or TrueNAS and read them.
