See this is the problem right here. 1/3 of Americans are deplorable, always have been, back to the founding fathers. And it only took 28% to elect Trump/Elon/Vance. How can the world ever trust the US political system again? It's been hacked by Citizens United, and at this point has been completely corrupted by the billionaires. I do believe that it can be fixed, but it won't be. This has been a long time in the making.

"free speech", as your quotation marks imply, does not really exist outside of theory. In reality, free speech is a set of laws governing hate speech or other dangerous speech.

Both the right and the left have ideas of what they think these laws should be.

But there is no such thing as "free speech" in the real world.

Considering that we only needed 2% of registered voters to see the forest thru the trees, I do firmly blame the selfish sacks who stayed home.

I am done catering to progressives. We need to drop the progressive voters and pull in more from the center. Let the progressives start their own political party.
