My thinking is not so evolved as yours, but I agree with you. It’s often said that we vote conservative as we get older, and I’ve been looking forward to such a mythical time. But the disheartening lack of basic human decency, no tenable policies, and the incessant puerile attacks by right-leaning candidates has made it impossible for me to support them and be in alignment with my own values.
Now, I see Carney as an old-school “progressive conservative” I always wished I could vote for. In his inaugural speech, Carney promoted “fiscal responsibility, social justice, and international leadership.” Sign me up!
