Excited for another season. I'm a little worried that they're painting themselves into a corner with the plot focusing in on the mushroom spirits but the writing has been good so far
Hot take: I think this card is severely underrated and will be a staple. It comes out in aggro matchups of course but being able replace itself and generate a 4/4 is just a lot of value while ramping you to a gameender the next turn. Maybe not quite Nissa Who Shakes the World but similar vibes
Looking forward to Zhalfir. I hope they print some lesser known folkloric monsters and spirits and don't just stick to human cultures. I wanna see some cool African inspired creatures.
Also, please make a playable Anansi stand-in. Trickster deities are sweet and lead to fun card design
Mutate + ninjutsu could be really interesting in combination, but I feel there won't be enough room for non-mech kamigawa mechanics. They're gonna have some really big vehicles
Homarids are back, baby. World building on this one is gonna be sick, it's the most open of the three sets next year, they could do some wacky things. I really hope it's not just a reskinned Guild set too
I don't but I think ignoring devils and playing more off the second ability could be fun for a low-power deck. I threw him into a Minotaur tribal/discard/hellbent pile and I always was excited to see him come down
Clive from FF for grindier, maybe Zurzoth for a thematic aggressive deck? It works with discard so tormenting voice and Monument to Endurance shenanigans could be included. Or Delina, wild mage is pretty casual. Mica, Reader of Ruins for artifacts and spell doubling
Could go either way but I think it's worth trying if you want a playset of Sleight of Hand and Opt in your deck. Spellementals could swap a couple for Abandon Attachments or interaction if the card advantage is needed more than the discount
Massive American unions usually have anti-strike clauses (in this case it's actually a law), so they will never be able to go that far. Outside organizations would need to organize wildcat strikes of those workers instead. I would say a good strong union even with a clause could still prep their members to respond to a strike call though, they just can't legally do it themselves
I've actually had this exact same build idea. FearfulSalad's post covers most of what I found as well.
If it doesn't ruin the fantasy, you can also go full Dex by utilizing Rope instead of Chain. It's not much easier for creatures to escape and doesn't require you to use any strength at all. In that case, you can go Rogue for Fast Hands and Monk for Dex Grapples with extra Grapple attempts optional from Flurry of Blows. The other big benefit is if you take the Crafter Origin feat, you can craft an additional Rope every LR.
All that being said, if your DM finds constant Restrains frustrating, there are lots of ways to counter it. Destroying the items, introducing enemies that aren't restrainable due to size or form, or giving all the important enemies Misty Step.
Interesting wording. I feel like there will be some strange interactions where counters or untapping are an additional effect on a card. I assume it's worded this way for Blight but I wonder if it was adjusted for Vivi before the ban too. Probably not but I could see a better version of this being really good.
Generations was published in 1991 and this segmenting of people into these categories has only increased since then. I agree it divides people. But I think it's popularity isn't manufactured, the simplistic narrative resonates with people naturally
Talent finally banned 🦀🦀🦀
Thank you for your continued hard work for the server. The button this year was really impressive. I had no idea it had evolved so much.

It's at rentry dot org slash megathread. Good all purpose list, it's maintained by the subreddit

Something about this meme format is so funny to me. The more obscure the punchline, the better. I always read the lines in their voices

It refers to the official name for the government. Venezuelan would still be correct for everything else.

A particularly brutal insult. The rich man's "NPC"
