I'm in the same situation. I'm forcing myself to have less down time when at the PC and instead do active things like games, even if it is just AFKing in Second Life.
We didn't have time to shower. Our under garments always stayed on. Not a single person ever showered.
Edit: Anecdotal, but my mom grew up in the same decade as you, but she's the most body negative person I know. She even harps on people just for not wearing a bra.

My point was that showering with other girls did nothing to improve her body positivity like OP suggested, not that it caused her to be so negative.

If you have a mediocre PC there are a ton of non-graphically intensive cheap indie games on steam. Rimworld is $30. Stuff like VR Chat is free.
