Youtubers/streamers can get sued for revealing the whole plot of a game I guess, so don't play too much of an RPG or Visual Novel game... Actually, Atlus, a Japanese companu owned by SEGA, put a gameplay limit on Persona 5 when it first came out and told streamers that they couldn't stream past a certain date! Scarlet Nexus did similar "no streaming" shit but like, on the whole game and I think it flopped lol.
For some weird reason, Doujinshi (self published manga) is allowed and flourishes, despite it literally being just fan manga/comic/fiction of some other media. And like, WILD fan depictions too (All those yaoi doujin of Naruto, Ace Attorney, Hetalia, etc.). I love doujin but it's fucking hypocritical imo to get mad at people for posting official content on a damn wiki site but let them sell manga of characters fucking 😅 i should research the reason honestly.
Idk if it really does affect how these companies respond but it fucking sucks to keep killing fan projects, ESPECIALLY if they make no money. I get why anything that makes money shouldn't have a copyrighted IP or material in it but companies will be assholes.

But yeah WeChat and other Chinese apps have huge userbases but are pretty much only used by Chinese people. Hell, each country/region basically just uses their messaging app. Some of these apps have 97-99% of internet users and 90+% of the country's ENTIRE POPULATION using that app to communicate. It'd probably be devastating if the service ever had a blackout for some reason.
The USA has a way bigger variety it seems, the highest market share for messaging apps is WhatsApp but only at 25%. The top 3 is WhatsApp, Discord (23%), and Telegram (20.8%). The other 30.1% of the market is a mosaic, Messenger, Snapchat, even Teams for some godforsaken reason. But hey, Matrix and Viber are 0.4%! At least they made the chart...

Yeah, when I played vanilla P5 it was around the end of Trump's first presidency, and then I played Metaphor right around or before his second election. It was depressing, and hell, I played the Tellius games of Fire Emblem, which featured NPCs who gladly cheered and turned traitor against the main crew in order to save their hides from the invading facist country. (Only to then realize that they sealed their fates and it got worse) These have alk been during this shitty regime.
It's hard to stomach them sometimes when thinking about the world around you, especially knowing that some people played the game and came out completely blind, or worse, in favor of the very thing it opposed.
But I think the hardest part sometimes is just feeling inadequate or incapable compared to the characters. I'm not a Phantom Thief with the ability to magically change hearts and minds, I'm not a mercenary with a blessed sword that cuts all evil. I know we're supoosed to think about the things we can do in real life, but it feels impossible sometimes, and i think that's what holds us back the most.
It just feels like if you aren't rich or famous, then it's impossible to introduce major positive change. It's hard to reach out to people, I have my college friends but I have never really known my neighbors my whole life nor have much desire to. Reaching out to people and convincing them they're not alone in their thinking is hard. And with social media it drowns it out even more.
I really wish I knew how to solve the issue of people falling for propaganda and this destructive desire to burn everything down even if it means hurting yourself just to see the other person cry. I wish I knew how to fix echo-chamber psychosis. I wish I knew how to get people to care and vote. But I think humanity's greatest thinkers have been trying to solve this problem since humans decided to start living in social groups, and we'll probably never find the answer anytime soon.
So I just try to make peace with the minimum and focus on living and at least educating and caring about those close to me and myself. I try to limit where, who. and what I spend on, I spread posts about things that matter to me, I openly speak about what I feel is right and wrong to those I meet, and I vote and contact reps to do as much as I can without literally risking my life or future career. And at least I can say that's better than being slothful and willingly turning my eyes away.
I hope you enjoy Metaphor, I found it to be a fantastic game and I realise it's one of the few Atlus games where I liked almost every social link. And I frequently find myself missing and looking back on it :)
Nintendo is basically the only one who can get me to play multiplayer/online games like Mario Kart or my personal favorite that I did play competively, Splatoon. Literally that's it. I would get into fighting games if I wasn't ass because I do want to know more about their storylines, but I feel like a bitch if I just watch it.
The man thing that sets Splatoon apart is the fact that the voice chat is basically non-existant, so you don't have to hear the endless slurs and rage from your teammates. The characters, plot, music, and art also really set it apart for me, but tbf those can be subjective and applicable to multiple games. But it's a special game to me and our fanbase is rabid lol.
But yeah I absolutely love and almost solely play singleplayer games. JRPGs ftw!!!
Thankfulky enough, I think Mamdani has stated in some recent interviews that he's working to make bike lanes actually protected, and just make the city more bike/pedestrian friendly. So things are looking up for them!
RWBY, an old (2013) 3D/CGI anime with 9 seasons now. I genuinely can't remember the plot nor did I finish season 1 but I was a child back then so hey. It's scifi, I think.
My local mall (debatable honestly, it's a 15+ min car ride from me, so bike and walk is unthinkable...) literally will kick out anyone under 18 who isn't attended with someone 21 or older. I've seen people saying libraries are kicking out teenagers. Some local areas have put curfews in place because of shootings or fights.
I was just talking with my friends the other day about how going outside sucked because there was no-one to play with (parents and "stranger danger" = almost never let my kids outside), busy big ass roads are impossible to cross in America because some of the pedestrian lights never fucking work (so my friends all talked about having bike rides cut short or reduced to very small areas), and if you don't have a car/a parent willing to drive you, you don't get to do shit.
I tried making friends with local neighborhood kids but none of them ever really stuck nor did they go outside much. Small school parks are really only intended for 10 and under, larger parks for teens and adults are usually far away and at busy streets, so now you need a car to get there.
Nedless to say, I just played games by myself and online, because where else was I going to go? I did play a travel sport, but that shit is expensive and not everyone can afford to do that.
The problem is this is the internet, not your friend group. We don't know rando strangers on the internet, so I can't trust that they're not racist. Furthermore it's just an overdone and boring joke.
I'm black and yes I do make stereotypical jokes with my friends, but that's because I know them. And some jokes just never hit anyway.
I get offended on the behalf of others because I want them to understand they're not wrong for feeling upset or hurt by the crazy shit they see online, because I see crazy shit online and wonder if people think it's right and or normal.

Gen z here, I do use a wallet but many people use these sticky wallets that you slap on the back of your phone case to hold their cards.
I don't use them because 1. what if something slips out somehow and 2. damn you lose your phone and wallet in one.
