I wish they would have had more articulate people in that group. Tim Pool's arguments in general fall apart under logic. The civil war stance especially.

Everyone was so caught up in pointing out the authoritarian stuff going on under trump that none of them actually addressed his claim. He's going to go back to his platform to keep doing the same thing he's always done, but they gave him sound bites to feed his base.

Any civil war requires resources and logistics on two sides that can equally appose each other. I would have liked to see someone push back on how that happens in an authoritarian surveillance state. I'd even grant him 'unrest,' but civil wars are is pretty much impossible. It's just a matter of logistics. No group can realistically organize to military readiness to challenge current regime. They're purging the military, setting up a surveillance state, and have been recruiting by way of ICE at least. This says nothing of the military hardware and training that is held at the federal level.

I get it, he would have just cut in and used half truths but it's hard to bullshit the obvious. Unless you're screaming.

I couldn't watch this all the way through. Maybe it's a moderate thing that they couldn't be more articulate. or maybe the 20 were just awful picks for this.

I wasn't a fan myself. I resented the hell out of him for entering the race in 2020 and outing Bernie. I don't like to talk about it much because it makes me seem like a Bernie bro but as far as I'm concerned the democratic establishment did everything they could to keep a socialist out of the whitehouse. The entire primary was political theater to dilute the socialist agenda and Biden only entered the race when it was clear that, even with his base split between him and warren, nothing was going to stop Sanders.

BUT, as someone who spent time in the trade unions I swallowed my pride and voted for Biden. I didn't expect much, but I did expect a damn democrat to do what they always say they would do and support the union block.

2020 was the moment. It was the last time I actually thought we could turn things around. Ever since that primary I've just been waiting for us to go the way of the USSR.

music would be a problem but I won't complain about the cars in their front yard if they don't complain about the giant garden in mine. Besides, maybe they'd let me borrow their jack stand or help me change my rotors.

I suppose at 8 years old the difference between the two was lost. I just enjoyed getting to listen to Rob Zombie without my mom knowing.

Flock cameras aside, I would never buy a home that's part of an HOA. There have been too many stories over the last 10 years of these terrible people abusing their power, up-to and including stealing people's home out from under them. That neighborhood is unlivable.

It looks like you have dungeon at home going by your surroundings. but hey, just because someone has a nice half-pipe at home doesn't mean they can't enjoy the skate park on special occasions.

Enjoy!

My experience has generally been that any song recommendations by the algorithm are completely wrong. Even when I build the playlist with a certain vibe and then request suggestions from the algorithm, it will go into left field and pick the most awful choices to fill out the list.

You would think that, with all this data they are keen to collect, they would have some level of understanding of vibes. Not direct understanding, obviously, but I would have thought them capable of cross-referencing various listening profiles to suggest better music.

It's legit one of the things I could see AI actually being good at and used ethically for. I guess the fact that it's not used for better taste profiling is a small mercy, considering the technology would be used for more nefarious stuff elsewhere if it was any good.

A prime example: the song "The Hoodin' of Miss Fannie Deberry" by Kenny Rogers is decidedly different from the rest of his catalog. No matter how hard I try to get Spotify to find songs with similar vibes, I can't escape Kenny Rogers and general country tunes. It's maddening.

Any given song radio will trap you in a decade of music/genre, and pay no attention to the vibe of a song.

It has gotten slightly better recently with making custom playlists for me, but once my hyper-focus changes, I'm sure it will be out of sync with me again. Frontier Psychiatrist Radio slaps, but I'm still trapped in the '90s-'00s.

You know,

First I appreciate the link. People will be able to draw their own conclusions and that's good.

But I want to make a little digression.

I remember, about 5 years ago now, a time when I didn't know anything about Israel. It was just...that place where where some Jewish people took pilgrimages. It was a historic place that I gave very little thought to.

And I remember sharing a smoke with a good friend of mine, someone who I consider to be a man of unimpeachable honor and kindness, and I can picture the very moment in my mind that I mentioned something in passing about Israel. It might have had something to do with the Depp trial at the time, I can't recall.

but I can recall his face twisting into rage and babbling for 20 minutes about the country. A discussion I would later find to be mostly based on well-documented facts. This was well before October 7th mind you. I don't even think I knew the meaning of the word 'Zionist.'

Anyway. The point of my digression is this: My position on Israel was formed that day and it's only ever gotten more firm as the years have passed.

I would need screenshots of exactly what the person said before I accuse someone of being an antisemite. especially in a world where the UK is jailing people as terrorists for wearing T-shirts against genocide. I don't have a problem with people of Jewish faith, but you would have to be blind to not see the Israeli influences at play in most of the western world.

So if this person said things that directly related to ISRAELI meddling I would be inclined to believe them. While if it was general Jews=Bad obviously I would have a problem.

but frankly, there's not much someone could say to me in any context that would allow me to support the current Israeli administration or their actions. And I'm happy to see anyone even trying to do so on my home-server being removed.

They were one of the go-to bands being played by soldiers during the Iraq and Iran war. While that doesn't make them bad by default it does put them in the position of being supportive of the military industrial complex. So, it's 100% on brand for them to be signing bombs for Israelis.

One of the Israeli narratives is of self-defense against terrorism after all. If you remove all of the context around the situation and hold to that reductive stance, then Disturbed is just doing what they've always done.
