I use old.reddit and will continue to use it. However, since they killed 3rd party apps. I no longer use reddit Apollo on my phone. If they eventually kill old.reddit. That will be when I stop desktop usage.
I watch his content and its pretty good but you're right his leanings are a bit questionable. A couple of months ago he made a youtube short about complaining about gas prices and blaming Biden because obviously POTUS controls world wide gas prices.
I think thats more to do with Japanese culture than anything. Staff at even convenience stores were super nice and helpful when I stayed in Japan. But here people don't really care that much. You cant expect a culture of people to change. Id much rather permanently live in Japan if my work and family didnt tie me down.
I disagree the more people that know about it the better. My friend is an avid reddit user but uses the basic app and regular reddit (not old.reddit) and he never heard of lemmy.world until I told him yesterday. If people know about its existence they will know its an option. He is considering switching as well after telling him.

Projector quality is garbage compared to TVs. Even in movie theaters, my OLED TV looks so much better than any theater.

I will be about 50/50 because some of my most active subs dont have an active lemmy instance. Once July 1st hits, I suspect more traffic.
