Got the final volume of My Dress-Up Darling last week. It's a decent final volume, but it feels a bit rushed and disjointed.
Still, I loved the overall manga a lot. My favourite arc is the Haniel arc. I think the mangaka did a stellar job portraying the haunting captivation the characters had for that fictional manga character and thus managed to captivate the reader too (at least for me). That's gonna be tough to adapt to anime.
I wish their Android app had a legitimate offline mode.
This is my main gripe too, but you can set the playlist to only show and play your downloaded tracks.
What I do occassionally run into is that when I stream one thing on my PC and play a different offline playlist later (without having internet), then when my phone has a connection again, it starts playing whatever my PC was playing. Full offline mode would help here, but the real fix would being able to let my devices independently decide what they're playing rather than all devices being a hivemind once on internet.
I'd also still recommend them though. I have my gripes, but they're pretty minor overall.
Being able to buy the music is also amazing.
Idol Corp, but from what I know they had a simil-VShojo approach (they signed multiple indies without redebuting them)
There are some, but most started out from scratch, like Hololive and those definitely didn't have IP ownership (Rin Penrose mentioned as much I believe).

True, although it happened after the merger with Brave Group US, a US subsidiary of the Japanese Brave Group Inc.
No, it's happened before (idol corp after it got absorbed by Brave Group), though not for free. Copyright can be transferred.
Either way, this would've been a good time to set a good precedent for the wider industry and take some damn responsibility for the careers Cover more or less destroyed.
The least Cover could've done was let them leave the company while retaining the IP. Cover already made the decision to basically abandon Holostars, so at least follow through and let them go indie if they wanted to. Not like Cover was still expecting them to make lots of money, so what's to lose?
I know CR awards are whatever and unimportant, but...

I know Demon Slayer was really succesful in terms of numbers, but Chainsaw Man Reze Arc was much more highly praised.
But Lazarus I find most baffling, especially when Apocalypse Hotel is right there. I barely heard anything about it, other than that it was kind of average. It sits at 70% score on AL and 7.19 on MAL... Not really award worthy.
They really need to get away from just popularity voting if they want to be taken somewhat seriously.
Yeah, I'm not saying it doesn't happen, just rarely. Not nearly enough to be like "I'm happy AI translations are replacing real translations" or drop CR for it.
The only few examples I know are from dubs when Funimation was still a thing (Dragon Maid, and even then, those were like 3-4 lines in the entire show, some of which aren't even that bad and also has some backlash from the "wokes" for other things).
