From what I understand the polished limestone is accurate for many pyramids, but the gold pyramidion seems to be more of an edge case on some smaller pyramids.
A gold top wouldn’t even be visible from the ground on a large polished white pyramid.
I haven’t been following his recovery super closely, but it does seem rather soon. Hopefully he can take it as easy as he needs to and doesn’t have any other issues this week.
I wonder if it’s not so much the density/opacity, but rather refraction. Significant difference in density meaning diffraction, and we’re seeing the comparatively dark sky refracted through the exhaust plume?
“MotoGP Street Circuit” are words I never thought I’d hear. Probably not really, but the article makes it sound like it will be dropped right in the city-centre’s main roads.

I do like how modular the shifting mechanism is in SRAM levers. I’ve seen aftermarket parts available for these sort of 10-11 or road11 > mountain12 swaps. Also easy to remove whole shift mechanism for 1x or singlespeed setups.
Tried to find some info on the Falcon Heavy grey paint. For those that don’t know, apparently it was an adjustment made to the falcon heavy upper stages, to increase the heating on the RP1 tank, to try to prevent freezing during long coast phases.
I have yet to try these new Shimano derailleurs, but reviews I have seen seem to indicate that that amount of chain slap is a definite step backwards.
I am inclined to think that the damping added to the suspension system by a derailleurs is fairly minimal compared to the actual forces involved, and worth the trade-off for systems with a reasonable amount of chain growth.
Thanks! This is handy not just for the sizes, but also for the icons. Occasionally I’ll see a trailer on the map with some cryptic icon on it, and no way to tell if it’s the cargo that Tim looking for unless I have a mission requiring it selected.
So this was the first thing I saw that made me think: 'oh, of course 4680 lights exist. Did some googling and found some lights and batteries, but not much in the way of chargers that would accept something that big. I guess most/all of the lights currently would have integrated charging.
Has anyone tried anything like this? Beyond 21700 in cell size?
Quick summary seems to be that they’re using it to monitor the stars that Webb is seeing planets pass in front of. To better model that stars behaviour with prolonged observation. To better understand whether signals that look like water and methane are really from the passing planet, or just from changes in the star’s activity over time.

CarPlay/Android Auto doesn’t require a modem in the car. Your phone already has a modem in it.
