The meme is an extreme exaggeration, reading the wiki for a couple minutes a week doesn't make your system meaninglfully less productive.

Hating on Arch because it's not your bag is just weird. It's like getting angry at the condiment aisle because you don't like mustard.

As much as I enjoy the memes of arch being a pain to keep alive, as long as you're not doing crazy shit and you keep an eye on the docs it's easy to keep going. I've had the same install for over 5 years on my laptop with no issues.

The law is only the law if it is enforced. The primary issue here is that the president is the person ostensibly charged with enforcement of the law.

IMHO, if we make it out of this with our Constitutional government intact(doubtful) we should pass an amendment that makes the DOJ its own seperate branch of government, entirely detached from the executive.

I believe the lack of cross-instance collaboration is a big limitation.

And to a lesser degree I think Forgejo, or some other theoretical project hosting platform, could do a better job in supporting non programming projects, or even non technical projects.

We need a distributed way of housing and version controlling OSS projects. Something akin to the Fediverse, although I think ActivityPub is poorly suited to the task.

Ehh, most individual cops I've interacted with have been completely decent (although there are several exceptions), but because there are systemic issues, it doesn't matter how good the individuals are.
