I get that, I used to work with an old timer +65 and their job made them feel useful. They told me that otherwise they'd be drinking beers and cruising on demand media. I hope he's still out there doing exactly that. Personally I'd rather be murdered than work until I'm dead.

Yup, I got a 30 day ban & still don't know why. Someone must've just gotten butthurt lol. I'm probably gonna make the same mistake again ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It's also a question of food availability. Perhaps food deserts don't matter to you and I doubt you'd care but when businesses get pushed out by dollar stores the selection and variety of fresh produce goes down while the quantity and variety of prepackaged & shelf stable garbage goes up.

Gonna need tons of capitals controls to prevent money from leaving, rich people are good at moving. To what end? So the federal government gets even more money to spend on subsidies, police riot gear & highways. They'd turn the Pentagon into an octagon before they'd meaningfully help their citizens.

Townsends: great colonial cooking channel can't believe the guy doesn't have a PBS show.

Karl Jobst: good @ explaining speed runs, truly an absolute legend.

History matters: Consice answers to obscure history questions that you've wondered about or forgotten. Also check out history marche/historia civilis if you like history.

The Tim Traveler: European Tom Scott lite.

RedLetterMedia: skanies analyze bad VHS tapes

The operations room: Extremely well done summaries of warfare & battles.

Pretty much, my thoughts too since the alternative is them regurgitating whatever opinion they happen to agree with. It's impossible to have a meaningful conversation if the other person can't even turn their brain on past repeating what their preacher/pundit/candidate told them.

What a trite & meaningless comment. Dangerous too, it places all responsibility of having a "good life" on the oppressed. I'm sure that's how you get to sleep at night believing that other people's problems are their own fault because they don't have the right mindset...

This guy thinks unfettered capitalism only began in the 70s lol did u learn about the gilded age or miners strikes (wars) in history class? Hate to burst your bubble but corruption, capitalism and government has worked together hand in hand since the founding of the union.
