Boiled potatoes shouldn't be mushy. If you boil potatoes to mush, then you mash them. Mashed potatoes.

Boiled potatoes should be relatively firm. Closer to an apple than a banana.

I'm sorry that Lemmy has turned out to be one more place where accuracy is downvoted in favour of vibes.

The same people will complain that the truth doesn't matter to the right wing.

That's kind of how bankruptcy works. You can't give notice that you're going to be bankrupt. The moment you'd give notice of bankruptcy, everything would collapse anyway as lenders call in debts and customers cancel orders that are now in jeopardy.

Other statuses that exist are examinership (an outside appointee trying to save the company by any means) and receivership (probably the closest to what you'd like - the company is entrusted to a third party to try to pay its debts before it is wound up, usually trying to determine which debts to pay for the greater good, and which ones to default on).

The EU is a collection of different states with different values and priorities, any of which can propose legislation or recommendations. Many of the states and parties disagree with each other on diverse issues.

Y'know, like a democracy.

Chat control is a divisive idea and one that has never had majority support.

This isn't America where the gob-king just says "tarifs are 200% now!!" and people act like it's true.

This is such a mirthful and interesting comic, I hope the artist has a way to pay them somehow perhaps in exchange for additional content

The racism is disgusting and I happily cheered Spain to win because of that and other factors like Spain's support for Palestine. There is plenty of racism in Spanish football too but it is not overtly adopted by the squad itself.

Your first screenshot could be from any 80s Serie A game, any 90s Premier League game, any 00s League of Ireland game, and any game in South America yesterday. As someone who actually goes to football matches, what happens on the pitch frequently fails to make it to the screen. It's just unavoidably televised at the World Cup.

I'm sorry but the way they played was the way everyone played 30 years ago. It's up to the referees, with more tools than ever, to implement the rules, and they did. Playing rough, or even playing negatively, are not against the rules or any less valid. It didn't work for them last night and yes for neutrals it's never as good, but this is sport not sports entertainment.

If everyone played exactly the same it would be boring. And as international transfers homogenise everything, we don't have Brazil playing jogo bonito, we don't have Ireland playing I-cant-believe-its-not-gaelic-football, we don't have Germans playing elaborate sweeper systems. At least Argentina are pretty much the same as they were when Maradona played, and Sivori before him - tough, ugly and liable to produce individual magic. They have an identity. I don't know why anyone is surprised at them retaining it, or it nearly being successful. Again.

There's a reason people watched Mike Tyson as much as they watched Muhammad Ali.
