Hell yeah, they did something similar at Kohl's. Some dip shit executive who doesn't understand how life works because he's neppo baby had a suggestion to save the company MILLIONS.
Fire all the loss prevention people and that will pay for the theft currently happening. Dip shit didn't realize they were actually doing something, and theft went up 5x in under 6 months once people figured out they could walk in, grab a duffle bag, fill it with Nike/UA/whatever and just walk out. They're not allowed to even call the cops.
Bro got a 2 million dollar bonus, and now they can't hire LP back because they obviously moved on.
I guess YMMV. I have 6 lines and I've traded in phones worth $200 on eBay for $1200 credit which is insane. I've never had them say they were damaged and do any bullshit. In fact I traded in my mom's barely functional iPhone 13 like 5 months ago for a 17 pro which ended up being kike $2 a month for 2 years.
Which I get that's their plan, keep you on their network with credits over 2 years. But I've never had a problem over a decade so I've never cared. I'm in a magenta plus plan so maybe I'll call to see tomorrow.
But I'm just saying, I had nothing but good things with them. Not saying others haven't, or they e never tried pulling some bullshit, just that I personally haven't experienced it over a decade.
Uniona are kinda a strange duck. Employers hate them, but technically shouldn't care because if they were in fact not trying to fuck you constantly then unions wouldn't get people very far.
On the other hand as a union worker myself, I've seen some of the laziest biggest pieces of shit not get fired because we're union. So it isn't sunshine and rainbows for either side.
I just want Clippy back. He pissed me off so much in Office Docs, I didn't appreciate what I had at the time. RIP you little bastard, you can show me how to use periods anytime you want 😭
I love my 9600xt. 16gb of ram is more than it will ever need. Also getting the same performance as my 6800xt at about 30-40% of the power, the fans barely turn on.
Yeah right. The CCP is probably the most decitful government in the world. As bad as the US government is (and it is) the CCP follows through with nothing. I thought it was pretty funny that they had American flags all over, it's illegal every other day if the year.
Yeah, you know those marketing team people. They totally went out of their way to make more work for themselves to change it with I'm sure zero instructions from higher up to do so.
Why would anyone care to have a power plant near them? The last one in the US that failed was almost 50 years ago. I'm not saying there can't be accidents, but they're pretty safe. You're like 1,000,000x more likely to die on your commute to work.
It's not just that. Some games use DRM to call home, even not being an online game. So when they turn that verification server off the game ceases to work, even if you just want to do single player.
I don't buy stupid shit like Starbucks. You can get better "coffee" much cheaper. I buy half a cow from a farmer every year. It's roughly $3.00/lb, but that includes 50lbs of ground beef, a couple dozen steaks, roasts, ect. All in I spend about $500 and it lasts 4 of us a year and it's about $2,000+ in meat were in buy it at a store.
It's amusing reading these comments. They give zero shit for anything but the bottom dollar. Chinese EVs are so cheap because they're massively subsidized by China for economic warfare. Second they're basically built by slave labor ($200 US a month and forced to live in dorms in site) and no the cost of living is about 70% of the US so $200 still isn't shit. The battery failure rate (thermal runaway) is INSANELY higher, quite a few people have burned alive in them or had their entire house burned down. If you want one you should have to sign a waiver that they aren't liable when that thing kills your entire family while it's charging in the garage. I don't want my insurance to go up because you're ignorant.
What exactly are you remodeling? The walls are paper thin, you have zero idea what building code if any they're going off of or if it's even truthful if they tell you. What are you going to sue them in Chinese court for lying? Good luck with that.

If you actually love your SO you need to save up 2 years salary for a ring.

I mean, if they pull it off good and you don't care, the hell yeah go for it! It's a pretty case by case thing IMO.

Yeah, even if they're being legit with them that's WAY to easy to get accused of something.
Yeah, the difference between Lemmy and reddit is banning everyone doesn't really mean anything.
Sweet! You're gonna have fun!

Same, I'm 42 and went out every weekend with friends for a good 5-6 years from like 21-27. You could actually afford to do that back then.

This person buries, trust me.
Zoning and permits as well. You just can't plop it down wherever.
