Which is crazy because for any sane president, covid amounted to serving up the election on a silver platter.
"Follow the guidance of the scientists and we'll all get through this together." would have gotten him north of 65% of the total votes, and probably near the Reagan/Mondale level of electoral college victory.
My use of kickback goes back to late 90s / early 00s.
A kickback was more "formalized" than just hanging out, but smaller than a party. Same general premise of there being drinks and food at someone's house at a certain time and date, but the expectation is that it would be much more chill. Maybe 6-10 people or so, hang out, drink some beers, maybe smoke a bowl, that kind of thing.
These are absolutely going to be used to break up big fights, then small fights, then arguments, then they'll just be roaming the halls looking for any undesirable activities.
In situations like this, I don't like that most phones tell you how many attempts are left. If they really want what's on your phone, they're going to stop before they run out of attempts and use some tool to break the encryption.
Growing up, my cousin and I were like brothers, closer than either of us were to our actual brothers.
In 2012, depressed and in pain, he decided to depart this mortal coil.
I rarely drink anything other than some wine with the gf. But twice a year, on his birthday and his deathday, I pour myself a glass of his favorite drink. He was born on the 4th of July, and would have been 40 today.
Today I'll be having a Jack and Coke, in memory.
note: don't feel down about this. I'm sad he's gone, of course. But also, I generally toast something to the effect of "thanks for taking the easy way out and leaving me here, fucker!", tongue planted firmly in-cheek.
Can also vary regionally. Grew up in Cali, basically everyone started kindergarten at 5 years old. Moved to Oregon during high school and everyone was almost a year older than me. Found out it's because they generally started kindergarten at 6.

"States rights to do what, exactly?"
I AM THE TRUTH FROM WHICH YOU RUN
Wonder if they came up with the "instead of paying union dues, wouldn't you rather play video games 🎮" posters

"give you back 3 minutes" should have been swapped with "hop on a quick call" and then the quick call should have been scheduled for 2:27.

Obligatory Fuck Joe Lieberman.
Hmm..... TJ to Seattle is like 1200mi/2000km, so you're looking at nearly 20 hours before factoring in stops.
edit: 2000km, not 200km
Serves them right for wearing ankle/invisible socks.
Crew socks (or larger) are superior socks.
I hope this is some malicious compliance, with the AG banking in the environmental review gumming things up for years, but I don't have much faith.

He won't face criminal charges, but I can't imagine he'll escape a civil suit (ok, I can imagine, but I realllly don't want to...).
Yeah, I didn't realize until sometime in the last 3 or 4 months when there was a comic that explicitly stated the character was a guy.
Why not just get Anchor Arms?
My gf and I like to say that, based on the premise, The Good Place had absolutely no right being as amazing as it was. Phenomenal.
Except that, like so many others, they changed their tune as soon as they were the ones in power. See: whiskey rebellion
(this ignores even the vaguest hints of nuance, of course)
