Flying cars, cold fusion, no world hunger, space communism, all the usual predictions.

It’s either that or full-on cyberpunk. Governments collapse, corporations wage global war, human life has zero value, nuclear weapons waiting in orbit… the usual.

Or, we could try the terminator scenario for a change. Human greed doesn’t get to destroy the planet, when robots take over, nuke every living cell to oblivion and carry on harvesting the resources from the still burning wreckage.

I’m calling it the gender and sexuality space, and it’s mostly based on the ideas presented in the gender unicorn infographic. It instructs you to evaluate yourself on 12 different axes, which means you could view this matter as a 12D space in which every individual inhabits a single point.

Some of the axes are just labeled “other”, which doesn’t feel rigorous enough, but let’s just go with the 12D space for the time being. If you were to collect enough data, some interesting 12D shapes could emerge. Maybe there are overlapping “cloud” shapes in the population, who knows.

You’re multiplying two numbers while ignoring the unit. Think of it like a vector instead = (2, 0.5). The two numbers represent two different axes, so multiplying them together doesn’t really mean anything.

Regardless, initially I still enjoyed the clever joke. 😄Unfortunately, I ruined the fun by thinking about it way too hard. ☹️

But only partially. Nowadays, you can find expensive and luxurious high-quality products, complete e-waste, and everything in between. Somehow, Westerners still keep buying the e-waste, so that’s why Chinese companies keep supplying it.

Basic capitalism. As long as some idiot wants to buy trash, someone else will respond to that demand and profit while doing so. For many people price still matters way more than durability, quality and functions.
