Chromebooks are designed to be cheap and disposable. I've seen some as low as ~$100. That doesn't mean you can't get some very expensive ones, but since they basically only allow you to use Google and a select few apps from the play store, I don't know why the expensive ones exist.
I'm sure the schools don't pay that much for the desks (or the Chromebooks) since they buy in bulk -- those are just the prices I could find for single units. I was more trying to show the difference in price, rather than exactly how much the schools spend.
I'm not so sure about cheaper. A quick google search shows the desks I used in school are priced around $400-$600 depending on type (different subjects had different desks), whereas the Chromebooks are around $250. I definitely agree with your second point, though.
I know it's been a while, but were you ever able to find more information? I had basically given up hope on ever seeing an update, and stopped checking these threads until now. Even now, though, I'm still not finding much.
My library has something called discovery kits. They’re large bags with everything you would need to try out a specific activity. There’s all sorts of things, including metal detectors, sewing, astronomy, photography, microscopes, vacuums, anatomy, bike repair, circuits, and so many more. The thing I love about these is that they’re not just a few books about the topic, they really have everything you need. The photography kit has a camera, astronomy has a telescope, sewing has a sewing and embroidery machine, etc.
I intentionally heat my food way beyond the temperature that it should be. I often take a while to eat, and I want my food to stay hot the whole time. I think my (suspected) OCD also plays a part in why I feel it needs to be so hot.
This happens to me all the time. People will ask about the last time I ate, and I’ll tell them “Uhh… I think I had a granola bar for breakfast… two days ago.” Today I ate two full(ish) meals. The last time I remember eating that much is almost three weeks ago. It’s gotten to the point where people think I’m intentionally starving myself, but I just genuinely don’t get hungry. I have no urge to eat, so I constantly forget.

I have at least 8 Lemmy apps, but use Arctic almost exclusively. I would love to try Remmy and add it to my list of apps I have when it comes out.

Both. I feel like one of them always tends to fit the conversation better than the other, but which one that is seems to be totally random.
