That's easy for you to say from your (obviously) majority position. Being othered in society has real consequences in people's lives. YOU don't experience them, but they are there.

After reading the article, it should still be relatively easy to get one if pharmacies and doctors don't play stupid. It seems like this move is meant to discourage people from even trying to get on or to cause hesitancy among providers in administering it.

Yeah, if someone only ever comes around with misery and sadness, it is very difficult to find their company enjoyable. It can also cause someone to feel used if they aren't receptive to listening to others' struggles. Frankly, if it is that bad, recommending they seek therapy is probably the most helpful thing you could do for them.

This idea that the military "fights for our freedom" needs to die. It's complete horseshit. The last conflict the US military was involved in that could remotely be considered as a defense of Americans (the populace, not the oligarchs) was WW2. Everything since has been neocolonialism and gangster activity. Even prior to WW2, their primary function over their life has been genocide and colonialism. It was the US military that brought the world concentration camps. If there is any hope for Americans, we need to kill the civic religion.

In the US, that isn't the case. "White" is treated as the default, and everyone else is "othered." It is short hand for "not Caucasian." It has changed now, but even hair products for black hair were labeled with signs as the 'ethnic hair' section for the majority of my life.

the main roads often lack even dashed bicycle lanes and feel really dangerous to ride on

This does not, in fact, sound like a great spot for cycling trips. People come to a town without biking infrastructure and congest the pedestrian sidewalk with bikes, yet the townies are the assholes? That's quite the take. Pedestrian infrastructure is not for vehicles.

It is absolutely barbaric that this is "standard" in the US, particularly because some religious looney tune was obsessed with children's masturbation. I don't care if an adult of "sound mind" chooses to make alterations to their body, but it certainly should not be allowed on children, let alone infants.
