@moody@jrsharp This is a little simplistic (but only a little): I do think it’s genuinely significant that the FreeBSD, NetBSD, and (ahem) Plan 9 Foundations are 501(c)(3) organizations (and OpenBSD is whatever the Canadian equivalent is) while the Linux Foundation is a 501(c)(6). They’re literally a trade org that exists for the benefit of their corporate members. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
