The nature of chat rooms is the same everywhere, that's why I'm curious how old you are. If you were on the internet in the 80s,when it was just basic message boards and stuff then yeah, people were much more civil because it was a very small community.

People like to creep through others' post history to try and find a basis for ad hominem attacks when their comment or argument isn't clever enough to stand on its own

That's too bad, I moved to boost from sync awhile ago because I didn't like the way the dev of sync was constantly changing the ui and then announced he was going to put some future features behind another (subscription) pay wall, despite being told when you buy the app thst you'd have access to all development features.

Are you serious? You want all the users you can get who will vote and/or comment. That's what makes content successful, engagement, in one form or another. This isn't your own private club, if we want this thing to become successful we want as many reddit refugees as we can get.
