Good stuff, hope further performance upgrades will continue to be made so that it becomes a more valid photo backup option in the future. So far I’ve had to go with self-hosting Immich which while great is certainly not the most convenient solution for most at least.
For me Nextcloud doesn’t seem to have the performance needed. Not sure if it’s because I have a large library or something related to the configuration, but for me Immich does a better job. I do have the photos on Nextcloud syncing to another device too just as a failsafe.
It’s incredible how the market is really not pricing in this weakness at all. The CAPE ratio is at an all time high which normally would really need an excellent growth outlook in order to be justifiable. Historically these valuations have lead to pretty poor investment returns in the next 10 year period.

I’d pick the Fairphone for sure. It’s not perfect but it’s a tremendous step in the right direction.
