Trying not to be too much a curmudgeon here, but this article sucks. It claims that being “authentic” means doing exactly what you want at all times regardless of its impact on others. You can be both authentic and considerate/pro-social.

Having said that, I agree that some elements of our personalities might be best left at home. Although I can’t really think of a good example. Unfortunately the best advice tends to be “use good judgement,” which isn’t prescriptive and isn’t helpful during a conflict.

Happy to see this under “We’re continuing to work on other parts of the product experience”

  • Enhanced privacy controls for users, guests, and public access (Yes, I am aware of that.)

I understand it’s a big undertaking but it really surprised me how difficult and hack-y it was trying to set up a limited view/account for household members that you want to have some, but not total, access.
