There's definitely a trade-off. It usually means having a quieter digital life, and that can in turn push you to think of alternate or IRL ways to do things. Everyone needs to find their own personal level of privacy they are comfortable with I think.. it shouldn't be an obsession or detrimental to your life.
Syncing tasks app with Thunderbird using CalDAV rather than your json method is one way of doing it. There may be other tasks apps out there though?..You'd need a CalDAV service for hosting the tasks..I use Posteo (email/calendar) and it supports this.
Even if you do not want to use the command line/terminal very often, it would be worth just learning how to install, remove packages and update your system. Just those few things will likely make your whole experience much easier.
They're not really debloatable but you can use alternatives. Newpipe can handle YouTube. Invidious instances in the browser. Something like libredirect can send you to alternate front ends for Reddit.
Don't find much use for them personally but some are in the tabs frame of mind and some are in the buffers, whatever works for you.. I just think in buffers and the buffer list. Maybe if I have a very separate set of work going on I might want to put it in a tab. I think of tabs in Emacs more like a workspace or session (ala Tmux)
The initial setup is a bit complicated but once done and integrated with rofi or dmenu it's a really nice simple and secure way to do passwords. I remember following some Luke Smith video to get setup with it. You don't need to use git as someone in comments has said - (I don't) that's just a possible back up solution. Nowadays I just super p and type for the service I want and it copies the password to the clipboard.
The keybinds you can set up in e.g Ranger for navigating or moving files are incredibly fast and easy. Sure you could just use shell commands/aliases etc. but the visual representation of the file system that a TUI provides, I find really useful.
Sometimes a dream takes a dark turn and that's usually when I realise that it is in fact a dream. I start to look for an exit and awareness shifts to my physical body eyelids opening as the way out.
maybe look into udiskie for automounting/unmounting your external drives. It notifies, ejects and powers them off nicely with a terminal command you could alias, script or keybind to something real simple. Then in ranger I have 'gm' set as shortcut to go to media. I don't need the GUI file manager that often anymore.
Lost Boys 2 is pretty tragic. Dunno about worst ever.. but first thing that sprung to mind. Those sequels are rough and capture none of the magic of the original. They shouldn't have bothered.
Yes probably. It's a compromise and not ideal. I revoke internet access and on Graphene OS not tied to a Google account. We all find our own peace with this kind of thing. Florisboard looked very promising but the swipe text wasn't implemented last I checked.
There are so many books out there but I really like 'Keys to Drawing' by Bert Dodson. Start simple, you only need a pencil and something to draw on.

we should always make time for play (in general)

Very comfortable with Rofi. It's especially nice in a window manager as it also works as a switcher or shortcut to your open programs.

Openboard with swipe is the current champ 💪
Really want to play this....when it's not £60

can't access the GIFs panel without internet access..just standard emoji..I don't use those anyway so can deal with that.

Unfortunately Gboard is still the best around. Block it's internet access.
