As a European with very decent public transit and bicycle options, I feel like an idiot for getting a Mazda 3 half a year ago. I really should have tried to make do with a nice cargo bike. Could’ve been hundred of Euros going into my ETF instead of payments, insurance and so on.

Oh well, at least I don’t anticipate a lot of trouble from my Mazda.

You know, that’s an interesting point. I think it can be really interesting to explore the „darker“ sites of one’s psyche through choices offered by better RPGs.

I refuse to play games which revolve around what I perceive to be normalization of and desensitization towards amoral killing, though. I simply don’t enjoy them because I can’t help but wonder what playing them does to people’s minds.

Yes! Super interesting devices, a friendly community, lots of development and you’ll be playing games made before gaming went full enshitification.

It does sound like that, doesn’t it. I’ve been down that rabbit hole, but currently my only Linux device is a steam deck. Apple stuff for most things, pc for AAA gaming.

So, no. I like Linux, but I really meant that I increasingly manage to find some satisfaction in getting „my money‘s worth“ out of my hardware instead of finding excuses to buy new stuff.

Because they have everyone addicted using devilishly addictive algorithms, socio-psychological hacks and platforms designed to amplify it all. Meanwhile, we’re still stuck prescribing individual solutions to these deeply systemic structural issues.
