I'm not so sure. I think Parliament's goal is to assert extraterritorial jurisdiction while paying none of the political cost of banning websites. Sure, 4chan isn't popular, but if they win their case (which they will) then a lot of US-based sites will just ignore OFCOM and they won't be able to avoid more unpopular bans if they go the ISP block route.

"That's why I always have 10GB of free ram on my laptop with 16GB of ram" lol, good job sport I wonder if they browse the web on command line? lynx and curl can be rough. I take the position that sometimes gui is good, sometimes tui, sometimes cli. ncurses is a headache to write for.

wget is the command line program to do what you're saying. Or what I use, anyway. Not tied to a browser, though. Maybe you could export your history and pipe it into wget if you're using Linux or have a Linux-like command line?

I also use the FF SingleFile plugin. Again, not automatic, though.

Maybe I'm not following, but the fear is that government requirements amount to an ID requirement, which makes anonymous posting impossible. That's why I care about IDs, at least.

Your problem is probably an ACPI setting, if that helps you look up an explanation. Try putting usbcore.autosuspend=-1 in the kernel options on your bootloader. If that works, that's definitely the problem, so then either you're good without it or if you still want autosuspend for everything else (good for battery life on a laptop) you should look into a more fine grain approach.
