5 sub-series, each 3-4 books. They are pretty short, so they go fast.

Series 3 is a sequel to 1, series 4 is a less-direct sequel to 2. Series 5 acts as an ending for 1/3 and epilogue for 2/4. I believe she is currently writing series 6, which will follow one of the main characters from 5. It's all written chronologically though.

I have mostly used Reddit and Lemmy threads. I search for something like great magic systems or well-thought-out sci-fi and then grab some of the stronger recommendations.

Currently reading the Revelation Space books. They tickle the same itch as Expanse and Bobiverse, though the shifting cast from book to book keeps me less emotionally attached than the former. The influences on Bobiverse are strong.

Nah. They are detecting the collision in order to push the player, so the engine is doing the work already. They could easily add an on_collision_player event in the NPC controller that fires at that point to handle NPC reaction.

The age of the engine impacts things like loading screens, poor use of modern hardware, etc. The 2004-era NPC handling is simply a reluctance to do any more than the bare minimum.

This is suspiciously similar to the premise of The Little Red Car by Bernice Orawski. Great book.

They claimed both were gang members. Their logic was as follows:

  1. The lady was involved in an assault, clear evidence that she is a criminal.
  2. If you are simultaneously Venezuelan and a criminal, you are automatically a member of a specific gang.
  3. The guy is involved (romantically) with the lady, extending her criminality and gang membership to him.

Not only is this batshit to begin with, she was the victim of the assault that is the root of the logic chain.
